General Transmission Repair is a family-owned transmission & auto repair business serving Kent & the surrounding Seattle Metro area customers since 1988

A $10 box of Business Cards & a Yellow Pages ad started it all!

Back in 1988, Mark and I lost everything we owned due to a fire in our rented house. We were thinking we'd just rent again, but were encouraged to buy a house, so we did.

Since it was a period of new beginnings, we decided to start our own transmission repair company and run it out of the garage of our new home.

We worked hard, grew the business…

One day, Mark saw a great deal on some commercial real estate. So we made the jump and grabbed it!

The new expanded location is just off of I-5 at exit 149. We've been there for over 20 years and just love the new facility!

Today

We now have 9 lifts & our crew runs 10 hours a day, 5 days a week.

During the holidays, we put together donation baskets of food and other items for the needy.

To Our Environment

We recycle as much as possible.

This includes recycling the scrap metals produced during our transmission & automotive service work, as well as used fluids such as transmission & brake fluids, motor oils & coolants.

We also send old batteries & used tires to recyclers.
