"I recommend General Transmission wholeheartedly…"

This is the third repair done by Mark on one of our vehicles. About 15 years ago, the transmission on a Chrysler mini van needed to be replaced. General Transmission quote was 1500 less than the local dealership. The budget was very tight, so we went with General. Mark completed the job quickly and completely. Fast forward to two years ago. My daughter's 14 year old Explorer's transmission went out. Mark's quote was very close to the local dealership, but I went with Mark because of our past experience. The Explorer was fixed quickly, and my daughter was back on the road. Two years later, and less then 9,000 miles driven, her transmission went out again. We called Mark, explained the situation. He said to bring it in and let him look it over. After checking the vehicle out, Mark said that he had no idea why this one part (sorry I don't remember the part) went bad. It should not have. He had never seen or had that happen before. He offered to fix her transmission for the cost of the parts only. Understand....we were over a YEAR past the warrant. Mark could have told use, "sorry" but he didn't, Mark and Cindy did the "stand up" thing that is so rare today, they stood behind there work, and made a problem right. Mark, is a unicorn in auto repair, an honest mechanic. I recommend General Transmission wholeheartedly.

Mark is a rare breed, a talented and honest mechanic. He will fix what needs fixing and not run up the bill. I cannot recommend general transmission highly enough, this is the 2nd time I have saved a ton of money by going here. I will hopefully never need a transmission repair again but if I do this is where I will go.

I had my Tranny worked on by another shop and then something else supposedly went wrong with it again 6 months later. I work on vehicles all the time and I know that when you get into an area of the vehicle you can see other things that might need to be replaced soon so you either do the work then or at least make a comment about it. I spent a ton of money at the other shop and when I returned with the new problem they just acted like I still had another ton of money to spend on it. There was no way that the problem was not obvious when they had it the first time so I simply could not trust them.

I came to Mark at General Transmission and he identified the new problem right away and the estimate that he gave me WAS EXACTLY what it cost!!! And he also told me that since he was not able to completely remove the tranny and go over the whole thing, (I didn't have the money for him to do that), but he told me anyway that he felt everything was fine but he couldn't guarantee that something else might not go wrong. That is usually not what people like to hear but I would rather hear that from a mechanic instead of them trying to butter me up or feed me a line of bull unlike the first shop. I will be going here again if I or anyone in my family needs tranny work!

I have been wanting to post this for some time now. I have known Mark & Cindy for close to 25 years, I found him through the Little Nickel back in 1989. I had just purchased a 1979 Fiat X19 with a bad transmission. Mark had his business on site at his house at the time just starting out, I could tell by talking with him he was a straight shooting honest guy. At the time I was just stoked that he agreed to take on the project being what it was. Long story short, a few weeks and headaches later, the Fiat was driving and I was happy. Since then I have owned almost seventy cars and I think Mark has worked on a least a dozen or so of them and I referred a few to him as well. Its pretty cool to see how General has grown since the beginning, I have seen and heard commercials on radio and TV. I may have another vehicle with him very soon!

I went to Gen Trans a few months back and my experience was the best one at a shop I have ever had. I was sent there on the word of a friend and boy was he right. I was told Mark is the best in the business. Well Mark delivered unbelievable professional timely, honest and didn't ding me hard. As a matter of fact he saved me alot of money.
