I've used this shop several times over the years and the owner/ manager, Mark, is a stand up guy who has always been helpful and couldn't be more knowledgeable.

He doesn't talk down to you and his prices are fair.

My cute little Honda Civic had just stopped one day. Stuck in downtown Seattle with a meter ticking away, I ran to a phone booth and started to call repair places.

General Transmission was one of the first I tried…and I just happened to get Mark, the owner. To be honest, he said, without knowing what the problem was I should just bring it in & have it diagnosed. I'd only pay for what they repaired, which would probably be alot less than a complete rebuild.

I called a couple of other places, but didn't get a good feeling from them, and with the free tow…well…I decided to trust Mark.

That was two years ago. Haven't had a problem since then.

A couple months ago I called your establishment, seeking some advice about my 1993 Buick Park Avenue. The car is a creampuff, one-owner car that only has about 110 thousand miles on it. About a year ago, the vehicle began to not go immediately into gear when parked overnight. Eventually, it was taking maybe three minutes to engage! ..Since I live about 50 miles from you, I was hoping for some sort of good advice to cure this problem…and you really helped me out!

I followed your advice, which was to completely drain the tranny fluid, replace the filter, and refill with fresh fluid…and also, to include a quart of some additive called Red Lubeguard. Within a hundred miles or so, the problem faded away completely!

Thank you so much for great advice…a more local shop nearby my place insisted that the ..tranny probably needed overhauling. I'm recommending your place to all of my friends from now on!
